Under the National Green Corps Programme, we (Jagruti Abhyudaya Sangham) have organized a Training session on  COMPOST UNIT importance, construction & maitenance methods to 10 Schools (Private & Government) from Hyderabad. As a part of the program, we have also distributed the related material. Program included, NGC Activities orientation, Paper bag Training, Knock the Door program (Students themselves explained the pollution problems and solutions to the public),  Elocution competition, & Games.

GHMC has conducted a meeting today with the Like minded NGOs to develop strategy by taking everybodies views in implementing plastic ban from July 1st in Greater Hyderabad. Jagruti has applauded the decision and shown its support in its style by offering TULASI plant and Cotton Bag. In this meeting many important views had been shared out by all the NGOs Jagruti Chairman has suggested few points to the Mayor to make the ban successful on behalf of his team 1) To include NGOs and persons of Colony Welfare Associations in the enforce Committee with equal responsibilities as like government employees 2) To provide subsidy for Cotton bags for few months and try to see that they are available at cheap rate in the market.  3) Keep motivating the public with the advertisements. 4) Apply ban sector wise... like Function Halls, Rytu Bazars, Hotels, with different strategies to follow each category. Etc. Jagruti is strongly willing to see this BAN a success and congratulating once agai...

We have Started a Community Compost Unit today, to allow the people of one street to segregate their daily WET WASTE (Vegetable pulp, Fruit Pulp, Remaining food etc) from their homes and make it compost. It finally becomes manure within 40 days by releasing Earthworms in that waste. This attempt is first of its kind in City to start a voluntary based Community Compost Unit, instead of segregating in the Municipality dustbins.
